If you know my husband, then you know that there are two foods he loves: Caesar salad and hamburgers. He’s a meat and potatoes kind of guy and needless to say, doesn’t share my passion for trying everything new and exciting in the world of food. So to make him happy and to put my marriage on a less jittery footing, I combined the Caesar with the burger.

  • 1 large egg, beaten
  • 2 scallions, minced
  • 1/4 c breadcrumbs
  • 1 t Herbamare salt
  • 1/4 t freshly ground black pepper
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 4 buns, halved
  • garnish: lettuce, tomato, thinly sliced onion, crispy bacon

Final notes:

  • Thanks to my gourmet chef sister Julia for helping me to bump up the flavour in these Caesar Burgers.
  • Vegetarians in your midst? Try these meatless summer burgers.
  • Know where to find the best burgers in NYC?
  • Why should you use Herbamare instead of salt? Besides tasting great, it’s loaded with  herbs and vegetables, including celery, leek, cress, onion, chives, parsley, lovage, garlic, basil, marjoram, rosemary, thyme and kelp. It comes in originalsodium free and zesty – with a touch of red pepper and horseradish.
